CINEMA FOR ALL EVENTS  CODE OF CONDUCT

Cinema For All wants you to feel safe and to be safe at our events. We operate a Safer Spaces Policy which applies to both virtual and in-person events, in addition to the following code of conduct to help people understand what behaviours we hope to encourage and what is unacceptable throughout the conference weekend. We are here to make sure you have a great event, engage with your fellow volunteers and celebrate our wonderful movement, but first we ask you to take a moment to read our guidelines, which are aimed at protecting all participants and creating a safe weekend for all. If you have questions, contact us on info@cinemaforall.org.uk. The conference should be a space for fruitful dialogue, community spirit and respect.  Whilst we encourage spirited conversation and civil debate, please do not attack others, adopt a rude tone, or talk over other participants. Defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening and offensive language will not be tolerated. During the digital events, the Cinema For All team will be moderating the ‘chat’ section to screen any comments. If the team see or are made aware of any harassment, inappropriate language, aggression or purposeful derailment of sessions, we reserve the right to mute, give out warnings and even eject participants in extreme situations (without refund). We will get in touch with you about this afterwards to discuss why it was inappropriate, if it is unclear. This includes offensive verbal or typed/ messaged comments or attitudes related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race/ ethnicity, religion; deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of the event, inappropriate physical behaviour, and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any inappropriate behaviour will be expected to comply immediately. If you witness the described behaviours, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of our team (who will be moderating each event) immediately. You can do this through Zoom Chat, or by emailing us on info@cinemaforall.org. The team will be happy to help. Cinema For All also accepts that we are not above our own policies so please know all of the above applies to all members of our team in equal measure. If there are ever any aspects of our events which you feel is offensive or makes you uncomfortable please inform us. If you’d like to discuss our policies or have any concerns about feeling comfortable at our events, please email jaq@cinemaforall.org.uk. All communication related to this policy will be dealt with in confidence.
We want to ensure we are a welcoming space for all - we look forward to spending the weekend with you.
