2015-2016 Infographic

Cinema For All has been supporting community-led cinema for 70 years and we are so pleased to see that 2015-2016 has been one of the most effective years yet. We are supporting more community cinema groups across the country than ever before and proud to do so.

We have developed an infographic alongside our wonderful designer Studio Binky, displaying the variety of ways we have supported the community cinema sector in 2015/2016. This was displayed at our annual Community Cinema Conference and each delegate received a copy. The Infographic complements our 2015/16 annual report.

IT’S OUR 70TH BIRTHDAY! Celebrate with us!

As you all know, this year Cinema For All turns 70, and we want to bring together the whole community to celebrate. Since 1946 we have been supporting, developing and championing the fantastic and inspirational work of the community cinema and film society movement in the UK and we want you to get involved as we celebrate our achievements together.

As April has now well and truly begun the celebrations are getting underway. To make sure that your screenings get the publicity they deserve make sure all your details are up to date on the Cinema For All map on our website. If anything needs changing just drop us an email.

  1. Come to our 70th anniversary party! Join us at the BFI Southbank in the Blue Room on 20 September at 6pm to celebrate 70 years of Cinema For All helping communities to screen films! You can book your free tickets via our Eventbrite page.
  2. Add your voice to the Come See a Film With Us campaign and show the world what community cinema looks like! We’re encouraging all groups to make a 1 minute video  to introduce your community cinema or film society. Include what you do and where you’re based – making sure you mention our campaign phrase ‘come see a film with us.’ Upload it to your social media accounts/website using the hashtag #cinemaforall and we will repost it from the national Cinema For All accounts. We want to share as many videos as we can to help spread the word about your brilliant screening activities.
  3. We’ll be using the power of local and national radio to tell audiences all about your fantastic screening activities. If you’d like to get involved by talking to your local station about the campaign, Cinema For All’s anniversary year, the power of community cinema, and your own activities, get in touch with Abi (abi@cinemaforall.org.uk) and we’ll help you set up an interview.
  4. Help us to make Cinema For All a reality for every community by making a donation as a part of the anniversary celebrations. Find out more about what activities have already taken place as part of Reaching Communities project.

We can’t wait to celebrate 70 fantastic years of community cinema and film societies with all of you and to find out about what amazing ideas you have planned. If you want to talk about any of your ideas for celebrations then get in touch.
