Carlota is from Bilbao, Spain but has lived in the UK for over twenty years. Her undergraduate studies were in literature, but she specialised in film at postgraduate level and is currently teaching European and World cinema at the University of Bedfordshire. She has a range of roles within the department of Journalism and Communications, as course leader for Media Communications and portfolio leader for all undergraduate courses. She enjoys organising film related events with her students and also volunteers for Hitchin Films in the areas of programming, marketing and strategic partnerships. An avid reader and film fan, she loves many different kinds of movies but believes that many treasures of non-commercial cinema fail to reach audiences and the work of associations like Cinema for All are crucial in order to remedy this.
