In 1998 the Hacienda closed, our story begins there. After the demolition, came the auction of the parts of the club. The bits of one of the most iconic nightclubs in history were then dissipated to various parts of the globe. Do you own the dancefloor tells the story of the auction, and about what happened to the bits of the club. It’s a film about people, obsessions and about what made people describe a moment in their life as being when the ‘stars aligned.’

The film features people from the clubs history including, Liam Gallagher, and hacienda DJs Mike Pickering, Dave Haslam and Graham Park, as well as many ex-club goers who went to the club to dance or to see the next band that everyone was talking about.
