Climate Pioneers: Green Practices in the Cinema Sector
Join Cinema For All's Climate Action focus group for a special online event in which we will hear from three inspiring speakers who carefully consider climate action through their way of working!
In this session we will explore topics from sustainable short film production to electronics recycling and more, building knowledge on best practice and generating ideas to take back to improve the greener credentials of your community cinema.This event is open to all and welcomes community cinema groups at any stage of their journey and will take place online via Zoom on Wednesday 25th September between 5:30-7pm.
About our guest speakers:
- Julie's Bicycle - Julie's Bicycle are a pioneering non-profit organisation, mobilising the arts and culture to take action on the climate, nature and justice crisis.
- Filmmakers Lorna Nickson Brown and Dom Riley - They will discuss the ALBERT certified short film 'Dog Run'.
- Climate in Colour: Climate in Colour is an online education platform and community making climate conversations more accessible and diverse.

About the Climate Action Focus Group:
Cinema For All’s Climate Action Focus Group comprises of 15 community cinemas from across the UK who meet online bi-monthly to address climate change and discuss what the sector can do to create a greener future. The focus group create and share resources to help other community cinemas - from an Environmental Policy templates, to contributing towards Film Hub Wales’s list of environmental films - helping to work toward a more sustainable sector, as well as hearing from inspiring speakers and testing climate action ideas in their communities.
