Next Gen – Summer Round
We are delighted to announce our new coaching programme Next Gen, dedicated to helping groups of under 30 year old’s (or those working with eg: in youth clubs or colleges) to set up their own community cinemas!
- Are you under 30 and looking to screen films in your community, or at your university?
- Do you work with young people (in a school, college, youth club) that would like to start up their own cinema?
- Looking for an exciting Summer programme to engage young people?
Next Gen is here to help you!
Cinema For All represents over 1,200 community cinemas in the UK and in the four years of Launchpad running we’ve helped over 30 groups kick start their community cinema. Our previous work with under 30’s proved how taking ownership of and running a community cinema increases confidence, builds team working abilities and develops knowledge and skills that is transferable to professional environments. Next Gen will follow on from this work, offering tailored support for under 30’s to kick start their community cinema.
With a £400 bursary to put towards your first two test screenings, you can enjoy the freedom of testing out your ideas, without the financial risk. Our coaching sessions will provide you with both motivation and knowledge in areas including, getting started, marketing and publicity, special events, technical advice, fundraising and more. You will be supported in the programme by the advice, guidance and expertise of our friendly, expert team who will guide you through the process and be with you every step of the way.
Past young groups we have worked with have said:
‘This has been an eye-opening opportunity. It allowed a group of young people to really take ownership of their own community cinema and take pride in what they have achieved.’ – Futurist Cinema, Yorkshire.
‘This has been informative and valuable… I can’t wait to put it on my CV!’ – Nyara Creative Collective, Yorkshire
Deadline for all applications is 6 June 2019. Coaching sessions will commence from 12 June 2019 should your application be successful. We’ve kept the application process quick and simple so you can get started with ease!
