In light of the current health situation in the UK we understand that these are uncertain times for the community exhibition sector and we want to keep offering our services and support. If you’d like to top up your knowledge and develop your skills in running a community cinema during your down time we have just the thing!

We are now offering 90 minute sessions to all groups for just £25. Through these sessions, we will help you focus on the admin and planning side of your community cinema, whilst your doors are temporarily closed to the public. It’s a way we want to support you during this time, but it’s also a way you can support Cinema For All and our change in services, if you are in the position to do so.

How it works:

The workshops offer friendly and helpful advice from the Cinema For All team in a wide range of topics that can help you plan, evaluate and develop your community cinema from the comfort of your own home.

On the day of the session we will send you a link to Zoom (much like Skype but doesn’t require you to have an account) which will allow you to download the programme in just a couple of minutes and it will automatically join you in the online meeting with either Abi or Ellie from the Cinema For All team to do the workshop. You can have multiple people from your community cinema join the online workshop but we recommend that you do so separately from your own home in line with public health and safety at the moment.

You can choose from the following workshops:

  • Film programming
  • Fundraising
  • Audience development and immersive cinema
  • Outreach
  • Accessibility
  • Venue and equipment
  • Sustainability – keeping your cinema going in the strength of your venue, finances, volunteers and more.
  • Marketing and social media

Whilst screenings are unable to happen during this time this is a nice way to stay connected. If you think that this could be useful for you and your community cinema please get in touch!
