FOR LAUNCHPAD HOTHOUSE

How to apply:

Please answer these three questions (no more than 200 words or 5 minute video, per answer):

  1. Why do you feel there is a need for a community cinema where you live?
  2. What is your chosen venue? Tell us a little bit about the area it is in. Is it accessible? What is the capacity?
  3. What would you do to ensure your screenings attract as diverse an audience as possible?

We do not want to put any barriers in the way of applying for the programme so written, verbal or filmed applications are all welcome.

Any questions? Please contact Ellie at ellie@cinemaforall.org.uk.  Please get in touch if for any reason the application process is proving difficult for your group.

Before applying, be sure to read the guidance notes for more information about the application questions and details on the project timeline.

Send your answers to Ellie at ellie@cinemaforall.org.uk with the subject line ‘LAUNCHPAD HOTHOUSE’ by 15 August 2018. Late entries will not be considered.

We are looking to support groups working with disadvantaged, hard to reach or rural audiences who may struggle to access more mainstream cinema or cultural provision. It is essential that successful groups make every effort to keep their screenings as open, accessible and inclusive as possible. http://www.bfi.org.uk/about-bfi/policy-strategy/diversity/diversity-standards

The support of the BFI for this project means that priority must be given to screen films that support British, independent and specialised cinema. Cinema For All will be on hand to offer guidance and recommend suitable titles that fit this criteria. BFI’s definition of specialised cinema is available to read here: http://www.bfi.org.uk/sites/bfi.org.uk/files/downloads/bfi-films-specialised-films-2015-11-04.pdf
