Applications for Launchpad HotHouse now open!

  • Are you aged 16-30 years old based in South Yorkshire or Leciestershire and passionate about cinema?
  • Always dreamt of creating your own cinema but no idea where to start?
  • Want to have your voice and screen the films you want to see?
  • Want to make a difference in your area and to your local community?

Supported by the BFI, BBFC and Octagon Films, Launchpad HotHouse is a programme to help groups of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in South Yorkshire and Leicestershire develop skills in film exhibition and become confident community film organisers.

Cinema For All will support several groups (3 x in South Yorkshire and 1 x Leicestershire) of 16-30 year olds to become cultural film programmers, engaging with local audiences to set up inclusive film screenings. Cinema For All will empower participants with all the skills and knowledge they need to establish, manage and programme their own film screenings.

With face to face training sessions on areas such as equipment, marketing and publicity, fundraising and audience development, Launchpad HotHouse will provide both practical and educational support to those embarking on their journey to become a young film organiser.

This will also be paired with bursaries to cover the first few film licences as well as free equipment, Cinema For All membership and much more. Launchpad HotHouse will help groups through the daunting first few months of setting up, eliminating worry and financial risk, so that they can instead focus on creating sustainable community cinemas in their local area.

‘Cinema For All has provided me with advice, guidance and support that has helped us stay on the pathway to a successful community cinema project. The team is always there to answer a question. Nothing is ever too much to ask.’

Leigh Film Society, Greater Manchester.

It is important to us that we provide this opportunity to those who could benefit from it the most, or for whom this type of activity is typically less accessible.

If you work with young people and would like more information about how to go about partnering with Cinema For All please contact Ellie, on 0114 2210314 or at Alternatively, if you know of a group who may benefit from this opportunity please get in touch with us so we can help spread the word in these regions.
